Willi Smith's Glasses

This is a Willi Smith's Glasses. It was manufactured by Cutler and Gross.

This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Rosemary Peck as part of Willi Smith: Street Couture.

It is dated ca. 1985–87. Its medium is polycarbonate. It is a part of the department.


Smith’s glasses were his defining accessory. They appear as a motif on fabric patterns for Digits, a feature of early WilliWear Ltd. garment tags, and in illustrations and caricatures of Smith.
