Showroom Slideshow

This is a Showroom slideshow. It was photographed by Peter L. Gould, Andreas Sterzing and Marta Sentís. It is dated 1982–87. Its medium is 2:47 minutes. It is a part of the department.

When Smith won the Coty Award in 1983, Catalan artist Miralda (b. 1942) was commissioned to create Dressing Tables for the afterparty in the WilliWear showroom. The event was described as a celebration of clothing through food, and included large tables shaped like WilliWear basic garments covered in ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise--Smith's favorite colors.

It is credited Courtesy of SITE, Archive Miralda / FoodCultura, and Fashion Institute of Technology | SUNY, FIT Library Special Collections and College Archive.

This object was previously on display as a part of the exhibition Willi Smith: Street Couture.
