Letterhead, Der Direktor, Das Bauhaus in Dessau
This is a letterhead. It was designed by Herbert Bayer and published by Bauhaus.
This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Merrill Berman as part of Herbert Bayer: Bauhaus Master.
In Bayer’s letterheads, typography divides the space for typing. At the bottom of each letterhead is a manifesto about abolishing capital letters, which Bayer believed were redundant and inefficient.
It is credited Collection of Merrill C. Berman.
