Drawing, WilliWear Showroom, New York, NY
This is a Drawing. It was designed by SITE and drafted by James Wines and made for WilliWear Ltd..
This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from James Wines as part of Willi Smith: Street Couture.
"SITE and WilliWear both cared about personal freedom and creating public experiences in the context of daily life. Willi's creative inspiration came from watching how people on the street lived in their clothes. So my concept for bringing the streets of New York City into a commercial interior succeeded in breaking down the barrier between inside and outside while reflecting WilliWear's identity."
--Alison Sky, SITE partner
It is credited Museum purchase through gift of Virginia Bayer, Paul Herzan, Adam Charlap Hyman, and Colleen Weis and from General Acquisitions Endowment Fund.
