Sidewall, Athena, 1968
This is a sidewall. It was designed by John Rombola and manufactured by Piazza Prints Inc.. It is dated 1968 and we acquired it in 1998. Its medium is screen printed on paper. It is a part of the Wallcoverings department.
Inspired by the wanderlust created by the new jet travel which began in 1952, many wallpapers began exploring the wonders of far off lands. Athena explores ancient Greece and features the Parthenon, rulers and soldiers, a vain sphinx, as well as a variety of vessels, all drawn in Rombola’s signature style of patterning and whimsy.
