Buriat Man, from Peoples of Russia series Figure

This is a figure. It was designed by Pavel Kamensky and manufactured by Imperial Porcelain Manufactory. It is dated 1907–19 and we acquired it in 1995. Its medium is porcelain. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Charlotte Y. Salisbury. It is credited Gift of the Estate of Harrison Salisbury.

Its dimensions are

36.5 x 13.3 x 13.8 cm (14 3/8 x 5 1/4 x 5 7/16 in. )

It has the following markings

On bottom: underglaze Imperial Porcelain factory mark overpainted with green keyhole shape; the date 1919, hammer, sickle, cog painted in blue overglaze; and an incised inscription in Cyrillic [undeciphered]. On side of base: impressed P. Kamensky (in Cyrillic).
