Nineveh Jug
This is a Jug. It was created by Ridgway & Abington and made by Ridgway & Abington. It is dated ca. 1851 and we acquired it in 1992. Its medium is molded stoneware, metal (lid). It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.
Achritectural and sculptural deocrations from the ancient assyrian city of Nineveh on the Rigris river were adapted as molded ornaments on this jug. (Toward Modern Design, 1993)
