Sidewall (USA)
This is a sidewall. It was manufactured by J.C. Eisenhart Wall Paper Co.. It is dated 1938–58 and we acquired it in 1991. Its medium is machine printed on paper. It is a part of the Wallcoverings department.
This mid-century paper contains a single repeating landscape view with a deep perspective showing a river flowing through a peaceful, undisturbed forested area. The deep shades of green, reflected in both the water and the sky, create a monochromatic palette that softens the view. The meandering river and distant mountain beckon one to enter this forest and explore.
This object was featured in our Object of the Week series in a post titled Scenic Wallpaper and the City.
