Sidewall (possibly USA)
This is a sidewall. It is dated ca. 1948 and we acquired it in 1991. Its medium is machine printed on paper. It is a part of the Wallcoverings department.
Poodles started gaining popularity in the mid-1930s and by 1960 had become the most popular breed in America. But these poodle papers represent more than just canine-love. They show the new wanderlust brought on by the transatlantic flights which began after the war. The world’s first jet made its maiden voyage in 1952, and in 1958 Pan Am introduced their first transatlantic daily flights between New York and Paris.
