Plate, from the "Eden" Service (One of Sixteen) Plate

This is a plate. It was manufactured by Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory and gilded by Pierre-Jean-Baptiste Vandé (fils or l'aîné) and vd and painted by Charles-Nicolas Buteux (fils, l'aîné). It is dated 1787 and we acquired it in 1986. Its medium is soft paste porcelain, vitreous enamel, gold. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Mrs. John Jay Ide. It is credited The John Jay Ide Collection.

Its dimensions are

H x diam.: 24 cm (9 7/16 in.)

It has the following markings

Underside: [1] interlaced LLs enclosing "KK", painted in puce overglaze (manufactory mark and date letters) [2] "g." or "9.", painted in puce overglaze (painter's mark) [3] "v d", painted in gold overglaze (gilder's mark)
