Plate, from the "Eden" Service (One of Sixteen) Plate

This is a plate. It was created by L. and enameled by cm and decorated by cm and manufactured by Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory and gilded by Louis-François L'Écot and painted by Michel-Gabriel Commelin. It is dated 1787 and we acquired it in 1986. Its medium is soft paste porcelain, vitreous enamel, gold. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Mrs. John Jay Ide. It is credited The John Jay Ide Collection.

Its dimensions are

H x diam.: 24.1 cm (9 1/2 in.)

It has the following markings

Underside: [1] interlaced LLs enclosing "KK", painted in blue overglaze (manufactory mark and date letters) [2] "cm", painted in blue overglaze (painter's mark) [3] "L", painted in gold overglaze (gilder's mark)
