Sampler (France)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Madeleine Votier. It is dated 1725 and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is silk embroidery on linen foundation and its technique is embroidered in satin and cross stitches on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.
