Sampler (Germany), mid-19th century

This is a Sampler. It is dated mid-19th century and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is wool and metallic braid embroidery on cotton foundation and its technique is embroidered in satin and cross stitches with applique on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.
