Sampler (Germany)

This is a Sampler. It is dated 1854 and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is silk, metal, cotton and metal-wrapped cotton threads on cotton foundation and its technique is embroidered in satin, stem, knot, herringbone, overcast cords, running and cross stitches, with deflected element work with overcasting. It is a part of the Textiles department.
