On under side of lantern: [1] Lion Rampant, impressed (standard mark, .934) On top edge of lantern body cylinder between two ornamental scrolls: [1] “P” in script, impressed (date letter, 1899) On middle of perforated cover: [1] Lion Rampant, impressed (standard mark, .934) On tail of each of the three dolphins: [1] Sword, impressed (standard mark, .833, 1814–1905) On decorative orb on top of lantern: [1] “P” in script, impressed (date letter, 1899) On top of the handle: [1] Minerva head with “P” on helmet, impressed (duty mark, Alkmaar) [2] A key, impressed (export mark) [3] G.T.B., incised (possibly maker’s mark)
