Bracelet

This is a Bracelet. It is dated ca. 1850 and we acquired it in 1946. Its medium is ivory, elastic/cord. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Delicately carved ivory jewelry was made in both Germany and Switzerland in the mid-nineteenth century, the most famous workshops being those of Graf von Erback-Erback at Odenwalk, Germany, and in the Swiss towns of Thun and Brienz. Hunting scnes and floral morifs were often represented in minute detail. (Jewelry 1989-90)

This object was donated by R. Keith Kane. It is credited Gift of the estate and in memory of Robert B. Noyes.
