Fragment (Italy), late 17th–early 18th century

This is a Fragment. It is dated late 17th–early 18th century and we acquired it in 1945. Its medium is silk, metal wrapped around silk core and its technique is compound twill weave with discontinuous supplementary weft patterning (brocade). It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Marian Hague. It is credited Museum purchase through gift of Eleanor and Sarah Hewitt.
