Band (Greece), 18th century

This is a Band. It is dated 18th century and we acquired it in 1943. Its medium is silk embroidery on linen foundation and its technique is embroidered in satin, bokhara couching, herringbone, outline and french knot stitches on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.
