Transparent Glass Matchsafe

This is a matchsafe. It was possibly by Edwin Henry Watts and retailed by Asprey & Son Co.. It is dated 1915–16 and we acquired it in 1980. Its medium is gold, glass. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

E.H.W., 9 in diamond adjacent to .375(stamp for 9ct. gold), date letter "u", leopard's head, ASPREY LONDON, all stamped on interior bezel. 9 in diamond, .375 and date letter "u" also stamped on exterior side.
