This is a bowl. It was attributed to Léopold Weydinger (père) and manufactured by Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory. It is dated 1773 and we acquired it in 1977. Its medium is soft paste porcelain, vitreous enamel, gold. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.
It is credited Museum purchase from Charles E. Sampson Memorial Fund.
It has the following markings
Underside: [1] interlaced LLs enclosing "u", painted in blue overglaze (date and manufactory mark) [2] "g", painted in blue overglaze (painter's mark) [3] "d" (?), incised [4] two lines, painted in blue overglaze (edge of rim) [5] four dots, painted in blue overglaze (edge of rim)
