Sampler (USA)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Matilda Jane Goddard. It is dated 1836 and we acquired it in 1976. Its medium is silk embroidery on wool foundation and its technique is embroidered in counted cross and satin stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.
