Towel

This is a Towel. It is dated 1920–29 and we acquired it in 1974. Its medium is cotton, silk, metal-wrapped cotton and its technique is plain weave with discontinuous supplementary weft; warp over spun, z-twist; one end finished with warp ends knotted and clipped just above the knot; other end finished with a row of herringbone stitch and a half inch of needle lace. It is a part of the Textiles department.
