Textile

This is a Textile. It is dated 1850–1900 and we acquired it in 1974. Its medium is cotton and its technique is printed by engraved roller on plain weave; woven cotton tape with cotton weft-loop fringe (2 cm sections of red wool at 6 cm intervals); attached to 4 sides; note crossed and re-crossed warps. It is a part of the Textiles department.

H x W (including fringe): 201 x 154 cm (6 ft. 7 1/8 in. x 60 5/8 in.) Repeat H x W: 37.5 x 29.5 cm (14 3/4 x 11 5/8 in.)
