Sample From Malmaison (France)

This is a Sample from Malmaison. It was designed by Piot. It is dated 1804 and we acquired it in 1971. Its medium is wool and its technique is black napped plain weave sewn to yellow napped plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was bequest of Marian Hague. It is credited Bequest of Marian Hague.

It is inscribed

Label at bottom: "Sample of the furniture covering used at Malmaison. From the collection of B. Brocard, sucessor to Piot, Brodeur de l'Empereur 1804". Stenciled on the back: "R.B. 3317"
