Waistcoat (France)

This is a Waistcoat. It is dated 1770–1780 and we acquired it in 1971. Its medium is silk, linen and its technique is embroidery of satin, stem and running stitches in 16 colors of silk; appliqué of silk 5&1 satin, silk machine-made net and silk chenille. It is a part of the Textiles department.
