This is a Sample. It was designed by Mary Walker Phillips and woven by Mary Walker Phillips and student at Cranbrook Academy of Art. It is dated 1960–63 and we acquired it in 1971. Its medium is lurex®, natural fiber, insulating glass, linen and its technique is double cloth: front layer, alternation of natural fiber and insulating glass wefts on loosely spaced warps - back layer, more compact plain weave with natural fiber wefts. two layers bound at edges by natural fiber weft. It is a part of the Textiles department.
