Covered Dish (with Tray) Dish

This is a dish. It was manufactured by Haviland & Co. and painted by Laura Eckroth Lake. It is dated late 19th century and we acquired it in 1970. Its medium is hard paste porcelain, vitreous enamel, gold. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Its dimensions are

H x W x D (a): 7 x 19.3 x 23.9 cm (2 3/4 x 7 5/8 x 9 7/16 in.) H x W x D (b): 7.1 x 21.2 x 25.3 cm (2 13/16 x 8 3/8 x 9 15/16 in.)

It has the following markings

Underside: [1] "H&Co / L / France", printed (?) in green overglaze [2] cursive "Lottie / 2-13-1893." above two crossed swords with dot to right, painted in dark red overglaze (probably painter's signature and date) [3] "8" underlined, written in black felt pen on rectangular label
