This is a Pleated fan. It is dated late 19th century and we acquired it in 1970. Its medium is printed, hand-colored and gilded paper leaf, pierced mother-of-pearl sticks with gold foil, gilded metal plaque, mirrors and faceted glass stones on guards, gilt metal bail, silk tassel with metal threads. It is a part of the Textiles department.
