Sari (India), late 19th–early 20th century

This is a Sari. It is dated late 19th–early 20th century and we acquired it in 1969. Its medium is cotton, silk, metallic thread and its technique is plain weave with areas of double-interlocked tapestry weave with narrow bands of extra weft-floats and complementary warp floats. It is a part of the Textiles department.
