Sidewall, Pencils

This is a sidewall. It was manufactured by Piazza Prints Inc.. It is dated 1965–68 and we acquired it in 1969. Its medium is screen printed. It is a part of the Wallcoverings department.

Pencils! A tool familiar to students, designers, and artists of all ages. Repeating pattern of rows of closely spaced pencils creates a strong graphic pattern. The use of red, yellow, and orange invigorates the design while also creating a cohesive background. The fact that some of them are sharpened adds visual interest.
