Lidded Jar (USA)
This is a Lidded Jar. It was manufactured by Tiffany Studios and the design director was Louis Comfort Tiffany. It is dated ca. 1900 and we acquired it in 1966. Its medium is glass. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.
Tiffany and his staff sometimes used photographic studies in the design process to render the movement of plants and flowers realistically. Here the trailing movement of the vine has been studied carefully as it falls across the glass.
