Brooch
This is a Brooch. It is dated ca. 1800 and we acquired it in 1965. Its medium is gold, silver, diamonds. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.
Not only flower blossoms, but also wheat ears, corn sheafs, pinecones, and other elements of the natural world became popualr motifs in jewelry design in the 1820's. (A Royal Gift, 1994-95)
