Textile (France)

This is a Textile. It is dated early 18th century and we acquired it in 1961. Its medium is silk and its technique is 7&1 satin (blue) patterned by floats of weft from every second shed (white) bound by a supplementary warp (white) in plain weave and by floats of complementary wefts in every second shed (white and red) bound on the front as 1/3 twill. It is a part of the Textiles department.

It is credited Museum Purchase from Au Panier Fleuri Fund.
