Long Sarong (kain Panjang) (Indonesia)

This is a Long sarong (kain panjang). It is dated 19th century and we acquired it in 1961. Its medium is cotton and its technique is wax resist dyeing (batik) on plain weave; painted with metallic pigments (prada). It is a part of the Textiles department.
