Ulos Ragidup (ceremonial Shoulder Cloth) (Indonesia)

This is a Ulos ragidup (ceremonial shoulder cloth). It is dated 19th century and we acquired it in 1961. Its medium is cotton and its technique is tied resist patterning in warp or weft (ikat) on plain weave, with supplementary weft patterning. It is a part of the Textiles department.
