It is inscribed
On reverse of tray, at center: "This Salver was bought March 1824/BY MAJR GENL FULLER,/with a portion of the prize money/awarded to his late lamented Brother,/COL. WM FULLER OF THE 1ST DRAGN GDS/in commemoration of his having fallen/gloriously at the head of his Regiment/whilst leading it on to Victory, at the/MEMORABLE BATTLE OF WATERLOO/on the 18th of June 1815.", engraved. On reverse of tray, around edge: “Presented to Natalie Bennett Knowlton on her marriage to John Insley Blair January the sixth 1912, by Clinton Ledyard Blair and Florence Jennings Blair”, in cursive, engraved.
