Sidewall, Mallow
This is a sidewall. It was designed by Kate Faulkner and manufactured by Morris & Co. and made by Jeffrey & Company. It is dated 1934 and we acquired it in 1935. Its medium is block-printed paper. It is a part of the Wallcoverings department.
Designer Kate Faulkner was the sister of Charles Faulkner, one of the founding members of Morris’s early furniture and decorating firm, Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. Kate Faulkner contributed designs for ceramics, textiles, embroideries, and wallcoverings, with many patterns in two-tone color schemes. She also worked on a freelance basis, designing wallcoverings for the firm Jeffrey & Co.
