Plate (Assiette) Plate, 1774

This is a plate. It was manufactured by Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory and painted by Cyprien-Julien Hirel de Choisy and Jean-Baptiste-Emmanuel Vandé (père). It is dated 1774 and we acquired it in 1926. Its medium is soft paste porcelain, vitreous enamel, gold. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was bequest of Mrs. John Innes Kane. It is credited Bequest of Mrs. John Innes Kane.

Its dimensions are

H x diam.: 2.5 × 24.2 cm (1 in. × 9 1/2 in.)

It has the following markings

Underside: [1] interlaced LLs enclosing "V" with mark beneath, painted in puce overglaze (manufactory mark and date letter) [2] a hook or similar, painted in blue overglaze (painter's mark) [3] "DV.", painted in blue overglaze (probably painter's mark)
