Print, Garden Pavilion and Latticed Gallery with an Alternative Design plate 365 from the publication "L'Art de Treillageur ou menuiserie des jardins"
This is a Print. It was created by André-Jacob Roubo. It is dated 1775 and we acquired it in 1924. Its medium is engraving on off-white laid paper. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.
André Jacques Roubo was a French master cabinetmaker who wrote an influential eighteenth century treatise on all aspects of fine woodworking, including the design of garden structures. This elevation of a domed garden pavilion is split in half to show alternative design possibilities. An indication of the scale is shown at the lower
margin.
