Lettered in lower plate, center: LE CHASTEAU DE MEUDON, a 2 lieües de Paris avantageusement scitué sur la croupe d’une montagne a côté de la riviere fut commence par le/ Cardal. Sanguin sous François 1r et achevé sous Henri 2e sur le dessein de Philbet de Lorme, ensuite il fut augmenté par le Cardal. De Lorraine, et puis Mr. Seruien/ a fait des depences prodigieuses pour soutenir les terres et achiever la grande terrasse et fait bâtir le grand Pavillon du milieu ou est l’escalier par le Sr. le Veau/ et enfin Mr de Louvois qui possede aujoud’huy ce Château la orné et fait faire les fossez, les terrasses, et la Grille de l’entrée sur le dessein du Sr. Hardouin Mansard.
