Lettered in plate, lower center: LE CHATEAU DE VINCENNES à une lieüe de Paris, fut commencé par Philippe Auguste, continüé par Philippe de Valois, conduit/ jusques au troisième étage par le Roi Jean et enfin achevé aussi bien que la Chapelle par Charles V. Il a été le Sejour de plusieurs Rois de/ la 3e Race. Le Cardinal Mazarin a fait changer l’ancien Bâtiment dont il ne reste que les huit Tours et le Donjon qui sert pour les pri-/sonniers de qualité. Les Apartemens du Roi occupant les deux aîles. Le Sr. Le Veau a été l’Architecte de cette Façade qui regarde/ le Parc qui est une promenade agreable.
