Print, LES CASCADES DE FONTAINEBLEAU

It is inscribed

Lettered in lower plate, center: LES CASCADES DE FONTAINEBLEAU sont au bout du grand Parterre du Tibre devant la teste du Canal. Leur plan est un quarré long, dont trois côtez/sont ornez de cascades à quatre chutes entre des niches de rocaille, qui tombent dans une grande Piece d’eau au devant de laquelle sont des cierges d’eau qui forment une espece de/ Grille. Il y’a aux deux extremitez de ces Cascades, qui font comme deux aîles, une niche à chacune avec des jets d’eau et aux côtez de ces aîles deux Rampes en glacis (pour/ descender du Parterre au Canal) qui sont fermées de Grilles de fer. Cet ouvrage a été fait sous Louis le Grand par le Sr. Francine.
