Lettered in plate, lower center: LE CHÂTEAU NEUF DE ST GERMAIN EN LAYE du côté de la cour a été commencé par le Roi Henri II et le Roi Henri IV a achevé cette partie qui paroit ici, dont la/ principale Cour est quarrée et les faces arondies. Aux deux cotez sont deux autres Cours quarrée. L’Ordonnance en est rustique et du dessein de Guillaume Marchand. L’Etage/ du Rez de chaussée, est le principal ny aïant audessus que quelque Attique. Ce Corps de Bâtiment est occupé par Monsieur et par Messrs. Les Princes du Sang.
