Fragment (Italy)

This is a Fragment. It is dated 14th–15th century and we acquired it in 1902. Its medium is silk, metallic threads (gold leaf on leather over linen core) and its technique is two integrated fabric structures, 4&1 satin patterned by plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.
