Drawing, Fragment of a cartoon for cotton printing: Fauchon la Vielleuse

This is a Drawing. It was possibly by Claude-Louis Desrais and manufactured by Petitpierre & Compe. Nantes. It is dated 1785–95. Its medium is graphite, pen and black ink, brush and grey wash, pink wash and white heightening on white paper. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.


Irregular cut edges indicate these scenes were cut from a larger cartoon. The top one may have been used as a source for the block-printed adaptation.

This object was donated by Mary A. Peoli. It is credited Gift of Mary A. Peoli.
