This is a Mural detail. It was made for Jessica Dragonette. It is dated 1934. Its medium is cotton and its technique is wax resist dyeing (batik) on plain weave.
The musical score for “Jessica Dragonette’s Theme Song,” composed by Cities Service Orchestra conductor Rosario Bourdon. Played just prior to Dragonette’s performances on the hour-long Cities Service broadcast program, it was intended to set the appropriate mood for her music. To the right is Guglielmo Marconi.
It is credited Gift of Nicholas Meredith Turner in memory of Jessica Dragonette.
